Understanding domestic violence and toxic relationships and taking action

The Equal Opportunities Officer for the town of Burgwedel invites you to attend this lecture on domestic violence and toxic relationships on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (Orange Day). You are very welcome to attend if you work as an educational or counselling professional or are interested in this topic.
Self-defence for women* aged 18 and over in Wedemark
WHEN: Saturday, 8 November and Sunday, 9 November 2025

Women aged 18 and over are welcome to attend our free self-defence and self-assertion training with Ursula Mathyl (Wen-Do trainer, dance and Gestalt therapist, among other things).
Self-defence for girls aged 13 to 15 in Isernhagen
WHEN: Saturday, 1 November and Sunday, 2 November 2025
10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Young girls aged between 13 and 15 are warmly invited to take part in our free self-defence and self-assertion training with Mia Marben.
Encouragement weekend for single mothers

What you can expect:
- Mindful self-reflection: using methods from positive psychology to (re)discover your own abilities and strengths and become aware of them
- Exercise and relaxation: Selected exercises from qigong and yoga are supplemented by short relaxation and mindfulness exercises(no previous experience necessary), all exercises are performed sitting or standing).
- Power of community: Exchange and networking with other women in similar stages of life

Group for women going through or recovering from separation and divorce
WHEN: Wednesdays (see dates below), 5:30–7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Mehrgenerationenhaus, Gilborn 6, 30900 Wedemark/ Mellendorf
Separation and divorce usually bring with them a lot of problems, worries and challenges . No one understands this as well as those affected themselves. And knowing that you are not alone can significantly ease the burden.
In our women's* group, there is room for all topics, feelings and questions, and under professional guidance, new ideas and solutions are developed together.

Travelling exhibition Living safely and without violence in Isernhagen
WHEN: 11 March to 2 April 2025
WHERE: Gemeindebücherei Isernhagen
To mark International Women's Day, the travelling exhibition ‘Living Safely and Without Violence’ will be on display at the Isernhagen Municipal Library from 11 March to 2 April 2025, in cooperation with Irene Sassenburg-Fröhlich, Equal Opportunities Officer for the municipality of Isernhagen.
The exhibition can be visited during the opening hours of the municipal library.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and additionally Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
One year of counselling for women* and girls
The counselling centre celebrated its first birthday in February together with supporters, fellow campaigners and colleagues.

International Women's* Day

WHERE: Kulturverein Brelinger Mitte e.V., Marktstr. 1, Wedemark-Brelingen
Wedemark will be celebrating International Women's Day on 8 March 2024. An ‘International Women's Festival’ will be held in cooperation with the Brelinger Mitte e.V. cultural association and Silke Steffen-Beck, the equal opportunities and integration officer for the municipality of Wedemark.
And the team from the women's and girls' counselling service will of course be celebrating and dancing along!

The volunteer agency of the municipality of Wedemark invites you to a Taboo Topics Day, and we will be there! The aim is to raise awareness of various sensitive issues. Violence against women and girls is omnipresent, but is often taboo. We want to bring this issue to light and would be delighted if you would visit us at our stand.
